Newspaper Advertising
There are likely to be a variety of newspaper options in your area. A metropolitan newspaper is a traditional way to reach a large, broad audience, while local and neighborhood newspapers will give you a much smaller, more geographically-focused and more affordable audience.
Considerations when buying newspapers:
- Ad size - papers sell space by either column inches or by fractions of a page (half-page, for example) - what size ad will bring you the most results for your money?
- Black and white or color - most newspapers have different pricing if you need color, and different pricing for the number of colors.
- Special sections - is there a section that your target audience might read - for example the restaurant or events section, the home and garden section?
- Free-standing Inserts - these are the printed parts of the newspaper that are not on the printed pages but are loosely inserted into the paper and have nothing but your content on them.
Other options to target a broad audience are television advertising and internet advertising.
