How do I know what I need in a website?
It can be difficult when you hire a professional who is knowledgable about some technology that you are not (for most of us, it's a lot like taking your car to the mechanic). Trust plays a big role. Ask around for referrals, check with others on what they liked and didn't like when they got their own site.
Some of the best looking websites I know function terribly, but their owners wouldn't know how to tell - all they see is their website traffic leaking out.
